An ID Card is for Life, Not Just for Christmas - (or What Not to Buy this Christmas)

It's Christmas morning and your children have been up since 4.30 waiting to open their presents. They scramble into the living room and dive under the Xmas tree to grab their first present. They look up at you with wonder in their eyes as they tear off the paper. "Oh wow! It's what I always wanted - a biometric ID card!"

This isn't as stupid as it sounds. If this Christmas you buy goods from companies involved in the UK ID card scheme, then you are funding the building of the National Identity Register and biometric ID system. As we've just seen from the Child Support debacle, you could be funding the future loss of your childs identity.

You can enjoy and ethical Christmas this year by boycotting products fromt the following companies:

British Telecom (BT)
Panasonic
Toshiba
Sharp
Fujitsu
Hitachi
Seimens
Symantec (Norton Anti-virus, Norton Internet Security)
IBM
